Title: Utilities Engineer (Industrial Utilities & Environmental Systems)
Position Summary
The Utilities Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of industrial utility systems within a manufacturing facility. This role focuses on compressed air systems, VOC exhaust treatment equipment, and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant utility operations. The position includes hands-on troubleshooting as well as teams leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of utility maintenance engineers and technicians.
- Manage operation and maintenance of industrial utility equipment, including:
- Compressed air systems
- VOC exhaust and air pollution control equipment
- Wastewater treatment systems and related processes
- Perform equipment inspections and establish maintenance standards and preventive maintenance plans.
- Troubleshoot utility equipment failures and abnormal operating conditions to ensure high equipment availability.
- Support daily operation, commissioning, and performance optimization of utility systems.
- Develop and implement technical improvements and reliability enhancements for utility equipment.
- Support introduction of new utility technologies and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Maintain equipment documentation, SOPs, and maintenance records.
Collaborate with production, EHS, and engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in industrial utilities, facilities, or plant engineering.
- Hands-on experience with at least two of the following systems:
- Compressed air systems
- VOC exhaust or air pollution control systems
- Wastewater treatment systems
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience with industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or coordinating engineers and technicians.
- Knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment processes.
- Familiarity with environmental control equipment and emission treatment systems.
- Bilingual (English + Mandarin) is preferred but not a must.
- Experience in battery, chemical, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance management systems.
Working Conditions
- On-site role in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on engineering and supervisory responsibilities.
- May require on-call or emergency support.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 –$100,000, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by factors such as the role, level, and geographic location.
