Overview:
The Cost Accountant will focus on accurate inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting, and reconciliation of inventory balances across multiple locations and entities. This position will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial results and operational insights into product costing.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and validate finished goods costing by SKU, location, and entity.
Ensure COGS and inventory valuations are properly reflected in
NetSuite.
Manage reporting on inventory deposits and in-transit inventory (vendor
to warehouse and inter-location).
Reconcile inventory quantities by location to ensure perpetual and
physical counts align.
Research and resolve inventory variances between NetSuite and
warehouse systems.
Oversee and coordinate periodic cycle counts and annual physical
inventory counts.
Manage monthly reporting for Inventory, COGS, and inventory-related
liabilities.
Partner with Operations to ensure accurate item setup, transfer pricing,
and costing methods.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in inventory and cost
accounting processes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain.
- 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting or inventory accounting.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Software proficiency: NetSuite (inventory module experience required),
- Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace.
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-location inventory management in NetSuite.
- Understanding of inventory costing methods
- Experience working with Wholesale, DTC eCommerce, and Marketplace sales environments.
