About Persona
Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder — but more important — than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.
We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry — that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Instacart relies on Persona to verify shoppers who onboard onto their platform before delivering groceries to your doorstep. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.
We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us!
About the Role
Persona is looking for a business development professional that will drive revenue and business growth for our public sector segment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in understanding a complex, technical platform and is passionate about building relationships with both program and procurement stakeholders. This is the right role for you if you have a competitive edge, a strong work ethic, and desire to join a world-class sales team that will accelerate your career in tech sales.
What you’ll do at Persona:
SLED Customer Engagement & Discovery: Partner with state, local, and education customers to understand agency missions, compliance requirements, workflows, and operational challenges Persona can help address.
Post-Sale Account Ownership: Own the end-to-end post-sale experience for SLED accounts, including onboarding, implementation coordination, training, and success planning aligned to agency outcomes.
Adoption & Performance Management: Monitor product usage and performance at the account level, identify risks or gaps in adoption, and guide customers on optimizing their integrations to achieve intended results.
Stakeholder Alignment Across Agencies: Navigate complex public-sector organizations to align technical, operational, procurement, and executive stakeholders, building champions and removing blockers to adoption.
Ongoing Value & Account Health: Drive long-term value through regular health reviews, data-informed recommendations, and proactive engagement to ensure continued impact post-launch.
Expansion Within SLED Accounts: Identify expansion opportunities within existing agencies by understanding evolving needs, programs, and funding cycles, in close partnership with sales and marketing teams.
Trusted Public-Sector Advisor: Establish and maintain strong, multi-threaded relationships with agency leaders and administrators by providing tailored guidance and public-sector–aware support.
Renewals & Contract Management: Proactively manage renewals in alignment with public-sector procurement timelines, collaborating with sales to support contract extensions, amendments, and renewals.
Product & Fraud Mitigation Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on Persona’s products and fraud mitigation best practices, incorporating SLED customer feedback to inform product improvements and playbooks.
What you’ll bring to Persona:
5+ years of experience managing post-sale relationships for state, local, or education customers, with a strong understanding of public-sector procurement processes, compliance considerations, and multi-stakeholder environments
Proven ability to drive onboarding, adoption, renewals, and account growth by building trusted relationships, analyzing usage data, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver measurable customer outcomes
Familiarity with identity verification or other fraud detection solutions (or a strong willingness to learn)
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with a big appetite for winning
Experience in fraud, identity verification, or another analytical discipline in program integrity is a plus
