Role Summary:
An Accountant will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end close processes. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and leadership teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and review accurate monthly financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Record journal entries and perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances.
- Maintain the general ledger by ensuring proper classification of transactions and consistent application of accounting policies.
- Analyze delivery-related operating costs such as driver wages, fuel, vehicle expenses, maintenance, insurance, and third-party carrier fees; monitor trends and explain variances.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist with tax compliance, including sales/use tax, payroll tax, and coordination with external tax advisors.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to support business growth and efficiency.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support operations, budgeting, and management decision-making.

Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant Certification or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years in in accounts receivable and payable functions.
- Logistics industry expertise is a plus.
- Proven expertise in a similar role, preferably within the logistics industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Office, accounting, and ERP tools, with strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of invoicing and billing procedures, with the ability to interpret commercial and legal terms.
