We're a small but mighty team serving coffees out of our stores in Berlin, Munich and Hamburg and quickly expanding to the rest of Germany. We're looking for an Accountant to support our Finance team as we scale.
As an Accountant at LAP Coffee, you'll play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly during an exciting growth phase.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations that keep our business compliant, organized, and ready to scale. Working closely with our leadership team, you'll ensure financial accuracy, support strategic planning, and help build the financial infrastructure we need as we expand across Germany.
Key responsibilities:
Accounting operations: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing across all locations.
Financial reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports and reconciliations to support decision-making and business planning.
Month-end and year-end closing: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with German accounting standards (HGB) and tax regulations, keeping us audit-ready at all times.
External collaboration: Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, serving as the primary point of contact for accounting matters.
Planning support: Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights to support our growth plans.
Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and support system implementations as we scale.
You have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
You bring 3-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, retail, or fast-growing startups where things move quickly.
You have strong knowledge of German bookkeeping and accounting standards (HGB) and tax law, and you're comfortable navigating compliance requirements.
You're proficient in accounting software such as DATEV, SAP, or similar tools, and you can hit the ground running.
You have advanced Excel skills and can build reports, analyze data, and present insights clearly.
You're fluent in German (written and spoken); English proficiency is a must as we are an international team.
You're detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in environments where accuracy and efficiency matter.
You're comfortable working independently in a part-time capacity while staying connected to a growing team.
Option to part-time: We are happy to consider candidates looking for a 30-35h week.
