About Multiply Labs
Multiply Labs is a cutting-edge startup based in San Francisco, California, supported by top-tier tech and life science investors such as Casdin Capital, Lux Capital, and Y Combinator. Our mission is to build the best robots in the world, and use them to make the most advanced life-saving therapies accessible to all.
We are revolutionizing the manufacturing of cell therapies by developing advanced robotic systems designed to automate and scale the production of these life-saving treatments. Our robots empower biopharma companies to produce cell therapies at scale without significantly changing their existing processes, reducing regulatory barriers and risks. While traditional approaches are time-consuming and lead to extremely high costs for patients (typically $1M+ per patient), using robotics can make these transformative treatments more accessible and affordable to patients in need.
About this Role
We are seeking an Advanced Electrical Engineer or Mechatronics to join Multiply Lab’s Hardware Product team. As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will own electrical systems architecture and design for high-performing and reliable robotics solutions. You will be responsible for the design, integration, and testing of electrical systems, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout the process.
Responsibilities
Own the architecture and design of electrical systems for robotic automation products, ensuring reliability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and viability for regulatory compliance where necessary.Own components selection and their integration into the design, ensuring safe and optimal functionality, and generation of BOMs for handoff to supply chain department or CM.Design for signal integrity, minimize noise interference and establish effective grounding practices to maintain system performance and reliability.Utilize advanced eCAD tools to meticulously create and review electrical schematics, ensuring alignment with product requirements, mechanical considerations, and adherence to electrical safety standards.Create wiring configurations and develop harness designs for reliable electrical performance, ease of assembly, and serviceability.Write and maintain design documentation that clearly communicates design considerations and trade-offs.Support the initial product installations at customer facilities, including troubleshooting and training.Collaborate with the Mechanical engineering counterparts to ensure seamless integration of electrical sub systems, such as motion and controls electronics.Collaborate with Hardware Test engineers to develop and execute robust testing plans to verify the functionality and performance of electrical systems, analyzing test results to drive continuous improvement.Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure accuracy in BOM, define and oversee assembly and testing processes, and troubleshoot any electrical system issues to unblock manufacturing.
