We are hiring a senior AI / Automation Engineer to join a founding team building intelligent systems that transform complex government data into actionable insights. This is a high-ownership role where you will work directly with the CTO and take full responsibility for major product features from architecture to deployment.
You will design and implement AI-driven systems that ingest, structure, and analyze large datasets, enabling automation and personalized intelligence at scale. This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in early-stage environments and prefers shipping quickly over waiting for perfection.
This is a remote role based in Latin America, supporting a U.S.-based company.

Develop AI agents and automation systems that deliver actionable insights to end users
Integrate and optimize large language models for summarization, opportunity extraction, personalization, and recommendations
Architect and improve backend systems that support speed, accuracy, and personalization
Own major product features end-to-end, from system design to deployment
Collaborate directly with leadership to scope, prioritize, and ship features rapidly
Continuously improve performance, reliability, and data quality across AI systems
Requirements
4+ years of experience in backend or AI engineering roles
Strong proficiency in Python
Hands-on experience working with large language models, including API integrations, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, or agent frameworks
Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using real-world, messy datasets
Solid experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure
Ability to work independently with high ownership and minimal direction
Builder mindset with a bias toward action and iteration
English proficiency C1 or C2
Based in Latin America
Availability to overlap at least 4 hours with U.S. Eastern Time
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with U.S. federal contracting data or related workflows

Exposure to low-code or no-code tools such as Airtable
Success Metrics: First 3–6 Months
Successfully architect and deploy at least one major AI-powered feature into production
Improve data pipeline reliability and processing speed
Launch AI-driven automations that increase user value and personalization
Demonstrate ownership over core backend and AI systems with minimal oversight
Compensation & Logistics
Full-time contractor role
Fully remote from Latin America
Long-term opportunity with a founding-stage team
