We are seeking 2-3 highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Project Managers to join our team, which specializes in masonry and related trades. This role is crucial for supporting our Project Management and Field Operations teams by managing documentation, coordinating materials, tracking project progress, and facilitating communication to ensure the successful execution of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the project lifecycle, including but not limited to:
- Project Documentation & Setup:
- Create the project Schedule of Values (SOV) Template.
- Assist with the delegation and management of submittals and shop drawings.
- Write, manage, and track Requests for Information (RFIs) utilizing Procore project management software.
- Material and Procurement Management:
- Perform accurate Material Takeoffs from project drawings.
- Order and manage project material samples.
- Request vendor buyout quotes after a job is awarded and build a purchasing evaluator to aid in selection.
- Project Planning & Tracking:
- Create a CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) Buildset.
- Develop a comprehensive Site Logistics Plan.
- Build a project Schedule and Quantity Duration Tracker (and update these trackers weekly for all active projects).
- Update the Sub Count Tracker weekly.
- Financial and Change Management:
- Perform Change Order pricing for items such as Architect's Supplemental Instructions (ASIs), Bulletins, and Field Changes.
- Communication & Meetings:
- Attend virtual, re-occurring internal status update meetings, including:
- PM Review Meeting
- Deliverables Meeting
- Field Ops Meeting
Qualifications
- Engineering background
- Proven experience in a Project Management or similar role, preferably within the construction or trades industry. Masonry experience is a significant plus.
- Proficiency with construction project management software, particularly Procore.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform accurate material takeoffs and change order pricing.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
