We're a fast-growing recruitment and staffing business that places offshore talent into Australian and New Zealand companies. We've proven the model works, and now we're at the inflection point where smart automation is the difference between scaling profitably or burning cash to grow. We need someone who can systematically eliminate manual work and build the intelligent systems that let us scale without proportionally scaling headcount.

About the Role

You'll be the force multiplier that enables our business to do more with less. Your job is to identify repetitive, manual work across sales, operations, and client delivery, then build automations that either eliminate that work entirely or dramatically improve its quality and efficiency. This isn't about automating for automation's sake. It's about reclaiming dozens of hours per week so the team can focus on high-value work that actually drives revenue.

You'll work with n8n or Make.com to build intelligent workflows, but you'll also write custom code when needed. You'll architect AI-powered solutions using Claude, GPT, and other models, balancing cost with performance. And you'll stay at the cutting edge of what's possible, bringing new ideas to the team before we even know to ask for them.

This is a critical role. You're not just building workflows, you're fundamentally changing our unit economics and creating the operating leverage we need to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Build 3-5 meaningful automations per month that save significant time or improve team performance
• Deliver 80+ verified hours of time savings per month across the organisation
• Maintain 95%+ uptime across all production workflows with proper error handling and monitoring
• Optimise AI and automation costs to ensure each workflow delivers strong ROI
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and propose new automation opportunities before being asked
• Document every workflow clearly so others can understand and maintain your work
• Stay current on AI models, automation tools, and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience with n8n or Make.com, with complex workflows you can demonstrate
• At least 2 years experience with coding (JavaScript, Python, or similar) and comfortable with JSON, APIs, and webhooks
• Strong understanding of AI models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) and when to use which tool for which task
• Track record of building automations that demonstrably saved time or improved performance
• Systems thinker who designs for maintainability, error handling, and edge cases
• Ruthlessly pragmatic about prioritisation and ROI
• Clear written communication and ability to document technical work for non-technical teammates
• Self-directed and proactive, you identify problems and solve them without waiting to be told
