In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server-side logic and databases across diverse applications. You will collaborate closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

As a Back-end Developer at Bolder Apps, you will help build robust, scalable services, enhance existing systems, and contribute to shaping the architecture of our platforms — all while leveraging AI tools to streamline development, automate tasks, and innovate faster.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain server-side applications and services to support multiple platforms.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and system reliability while collaborating with database administrators.
• Design, build, and document RESTful APIs for seamless integration with front-end systems and external services.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to improve performance and stability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, QA, design) to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices, proactively proposing improvements and innovative solutions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including both frontend and backend development.
• Proven experience with Node.js and at least one major server framework (Express, Koa, Nest.js).
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Solid understanding of database systems — MongoDB and/or MySQL (schema design, queries, indexing).
• Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs, including JSON standards, status codes, and versioning.
• Proficiency with Git and common branching workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code reviews).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards.
