In the 1960’s our formal ties with The Carrier Corporation were dissolved and we became a fully independent contractor, focusing on heating, ventilation and air conditioning contracting and specifically service, preventive maintenance, retrofit projects, equipment replacements and design/build projects. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The BAS General Manager will oversee and manage all operations of Applied Controls. This position will be responsible for day-to-day activities including customer and team satisfaction as well as upholding quality and safety standards in line with company goals. The BAS General Manager will ensure company policy and procedures are adhered to and that performance goals are in place and achieved. This position plays a critical role in customer relations by providing efficient problem-solving skills and building lasting relationships.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a safe working environment with 100% compliance on all company and industry standards.
- Provide strong customer communication, satisfaction and conflict resolution.
- Meet with key customers as needed to ensure their satisfaction with provided services.
- Work collaboratively with your leadership partners to leverage the overall company scale.
- Responsible for financial performance and technician utilization
- Help develop and support sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Responsible for key operational & sales personnel direction and decisions (with support of the Vice President of Construction Operations)
- Establish and/or monitor KPIs for Applied Controls and employees to detect opportunities or risk.
- Support Applied Controls with sound growth strategy and operational execution plans.
- Conduct regular “All Hands” meetings with your team to communicate key company updates, upcoming training/development opportunities and any other critical topics.
- Assists in recruiting, training, and coaching team members.
- Provide guidance, discipline and coaching to support all team members.
- Instill a culture of accountability and pride in individual & team performance.
- Involvement of billing oversight and collection efforts
- Complete tasks or projects assigned by Vice President of Construction Operations.
- Estimate, bid, and sell Building Automation/Controls construction, service, and PM agreement opportunities.
- Drive sales of Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and ABB open protocol Building Automation Systems.
- Routinely call on and maintain/strengthen relationships with existing Applied Controls customers to drive sales.
- Conduct bi-weekly project WIP meetings.
- Train, develop and advise team members and management as necessary.
- Assist Applied Controls Sales Team with estimating and bidding as required.
- Work with Air Comfort Sales Engineers to address Air Comfort’s in-house needs and generate additional revenue from Air Comfort projects.
- Track project’s lost; find competitive position in the market and ways to improve bidding experience.
- Make contact with school districts, public entities, hospitals, engineers, architects and new potential customers to qualify Applied Controls as an authorized control contractor for Johnson Controls, Honeywell , and ABB open protocol systems.
- Attend industry related meetings and events to represent Applied Controls and drive sales.
- Build a data base of existing Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and ABB open protocol buildings in the Chicagoland area for marketing purposes.
- Work Closely with customers, architects and engineers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 10-years of experience in a BAS sales-driven role.
- Leadership experience a plus.
- Outgoing personality; excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Highly motivated, organized, detail oriented, results driven mentality.
- Technology proficient.
- Team Player.
- Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Salary Range: $180k-$225k
