The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for initiating, developing, and managing strong, productive relationships with business introducers within an agreed market segment or defined geographical area. The role drives volume, profitability, and quality of originated business while representing JBR Capital and Shawbrook professionally. The BDM contributes to Shawbrook’s values by delivering outstanding customer experiences, supporting business growth, and operating with integrity, innovation, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional and market‑leading service to Introducers and End Users with a professional, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic approach.
- Achieve agreed sales targets through acquisition of new accounts and development of existing introducer relationships.
- Onboard, manage and drive productivity of introducers, incorporating structured feedback via Introducer Satisfaction Surveys.
- Generate profitable business through proactive engagement and a solutions‑driven, “can‑do” approach.
- Plan and implement tailored sales development strategies to maximise opportunities with both new and existing introducers.
- Maintain comprehensive territory analysis and develop the region through strategic planning and regular reviews.
- Review and evaluate introducer relationships bi‑annually, supporting governance requirements and assessing compliance processes.
- Assist introducers with pricing and commission planning using the JBR Pricing Model and understanding their business plans.
- Support introducers with origination from quotation to payout where required.
- Engage directly with End User customers using a personalised concierge approach where appropriate.
- Provide senior management reporting including pipeline management, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements including Data Protection and Anti‑Money Laundering.
- Attend introducer events, broker days and industry automotive events as a brand ambassador.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience and strong track record within Motor Finance, ideally in the high‑end luxury sector.
- Experience in Point‑of‑Sale Motor Finance gained through a dealer, broker or manufacturer environment.
- Strong understanding of the car‑buying process and the role of Financial Services within it.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Consumer Credit Act and Anti‑Money Laundering regulations.
- Proven sales success with strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Customer‑centric mindset with urgency, professionalism and integrity.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Good IT literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Salesforce.
- Flexibility to work occasional unsocial hours or weekends as required.
