About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to oversee and manage the full financial operations of a growing service-based construction company. This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping and focuses on financial oversight, system integration, cash flow stabilization, and forward-looking reporting.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ServiceTitan and QuickBooks Online, understands job-based accounting, and can provide financial insights that support operational and sales decision-making. This position operates within a Remote Desktop environment and works closely with ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Oversee full-cycle accounting including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and general ledger management
- Prepare and review monthly and ongoing financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Ensure accurate bank and credit card reconciliations in QuickBooks Online
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and best practices
ServiceTitan & Systems Oversight
- Manage invoicing and inventory workflows between ServiceTitan and QuickBooks Online
- Ensure accurate data flow following the system conversion completed last May
- Review, reconcile, and resolve discrepancies between ServiceTitan and QBO
- Maintain financial integrity across all systems used
Cash Flow, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Monitor and help stabilize cash flow, identifying risks and improvement opportunities
- Prepare and manage budgets, including tracking actuals versus projections
- Develop and maintain sales and revenue pipeline reports
- Support forecasting and planning for growth
Reporting & Business Insights
- Prepare pipeline and potential sales reports for leadership
- Provide financial insights to support pricing, operations, and sales decisions
- Assist ownership with financial strategy and long-term planning
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (including existing internal support handling reconciliations)
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and system efficiency
- Support audits, reviews, or external CPA coordination as needed
Qualifications
- Active CPA license (required)
- Proven experience in construction, trades, or service-based businesses
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceTitan (strongly preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Solid understanding of job costing, inventory, and trade-based accounting
- Experience managing budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting
- Comfortable working within a Remote Desktop environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and advise ownership with confidence
