The Chief Enterprise Systems Officer (CESO) at the Controller’s Office (CON) is an outcome-driven senior technology executive. This position serves as the leader for all enterprise-wide systems within the City and County of San Francisco (the City) and will drive a cohesive vision for multiple citywide enterprise systems that include core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the City’s financial and personnel system of record. Core duties include strategy development, design, implementation, maintenance, modernization and optimization of critical business applications. The CESO ensures that system applications align with Controller’s Office goals and operate efficiently across different departments, while managing system integrations, security, and compliance with government regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Controller’s Office leadership team, the Chief Enterprise Systems Officer (CESO) will coordinate functions with other division directors and City agencies to carry out the mission and vision of the Controller’s Office. This position operates within a broad policy framework and leads three (3) senior managers who in turn manage and lead large teams of technical and business-functional professionals to support multiple enterprise systems in the City. Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major college coursework in information technology, business or public administration, or a related field.
AND
Experience: Six (6) years of experience in a technology and cross-functional leadership role managing critical operations and/or implementing large-scale projects with broad organizational impact. All of which must include supervision of professional staff. Experience must include the following:
Substitution: Additional experience may be substituted for the required degree up to a maximum of two (2) years).
One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in information technology, business administration or a closely related field.
