North 40 Outfitters is looking to hire a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to join our team. As the Chief Marketing Officer at North 40, you play a key role in shaping the company’s marketing vision by leading brand strategy, customer growth initiatives, and all marketing efforts in alignment with our service-first culture and long-term business goals.

This leadership position requires the ability to work with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, e-commerce, operations, finance, and technology. The CMO serves as a member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for driving customer acquisition, retention, loyalty, and brand equity across all channels, while ensuring marketing performance supports the overall success and growth of North 40 Outfitters.

Qualifications

 

  • Willingness to share credit, work with others in a team environment, and define success collectively rather than individually
  • Ability to take initiative, embrace change, and learn new things
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including senior or executive-level leadership
  • Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that drive customer growth and business performance
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across brand, digital, content, and analytics functions
  • Experience guiding brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and storytelling across multiple customer touchpoints
  • Strong background in customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels
  • Experience overseeing digital marketing initiatives, including email, paid media, social, SEO/SEM, and performance marketing
  • Ability to partner effectively with e-commerce teams to drive traffic growth, conversion optimization, and omnichannel alignment
  • Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to advise and influence executive leadership teams
  • Excellent communication skills with strong executive presence and clarity
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including experience managing and optimizing large marketing budgets
  • Extensive experience with marketing software, particularly Adobe Experience and Adobe Creative Suite.
  •  Experience establishing KPIs, performance benchmarks, and measurement frameworks to track ROI and effectiveness
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and insights to guide decisions and optimize outcomes
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, operations, finance, technology, and HR teams
  • Experience managing agency, vendor, and marketing technology partnerships
  • Ability to balance long-term brand building with performance-driven marketing execution
  • Ability to work on-site in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting, repetitive hand and keyboard use, extended computer screen time, and frequent verbal communication; must be able to operate standard office equipment and travel occasionally (10–20%) to business-related locations.
