We seek a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help shape and scale our cloud environment through standardised, automated, and secure patterns. You will be key in designing and implementing reusable infrastructure frameworks that accelerate delivery, ensure operational excellence, and promote best practices across our engineering teams across multiple cloud providers.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure patterns and templates (e.g., reusable Terraform module).
- Standardise and optimise deployment automation using Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps for infrastructure and application releases.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) libraries to ensure consistent, compliant, and scalable environments across multiple cloud providers. Primary focus on Azure with secondary AWS experience
- Collaborate with scrum teams and TechOps teams to prioritise and implement infrastructure solutions early in the development lifecycle.
- Drive the adoption of cloud governance policies, security standards, and architectural best practices across multiple cloud providers.
- Continuously evolve infrastructure patterns to support operational resilience, performance optimisation, and cost efficiency.
- Document infrastructure blueprints, standard operating procedures, and reusable patterns to empower team self-service and accelerate delivery.
- Support incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis to drive systemic improvements and platform reliability.
- Participate in cloud governance reviews, security audits, and compliance initiatives.
- Act as a technical consultant and advocate for best practices across engineering, operations, and product teams.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide infrastructure input during solution design
Essential Knowledge / Experience:
- Three plus years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Platform Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong experience designing and implementing infrastructure in Azure & AWS.
- Deep expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Hands-on experience with Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps to support infrastructure and software deployment pipelines.
- Strong Windows OS management skills in cloud environments; Familiarity with Linux fundamentals required; deep experience a plus.
- Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell, with experience automating operational workflows.
- Understanding cloud security principles, identity and access management (IAM), and network security practices.
- Experience using Azure DevOps to manage technical deliverables, track work, and collaborate with product and engineering teams.
- Understanding application architectures and CI/CD workflows to ensure tight alignment with infrastructure services.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
