Join our team as a CNC Supervisor!
The CNC Supervisor leads daily 2nd manufacturing operations, fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role ensures production goals are met by coordinating staffing, training, workflow, and quality standards. The supervisor engages employees through clear communication of performance metrics and regular 1:1 discussions while upholding all company policies, safety practices, and 5S principles. In partnership with Human Resources, this position supports recruiting, performance management, and employee development while continuing making Protolabs a great place to work!
Monday to Friday 3pm-11pm
What you will do
Create a culture of Safety and accountability around all Teams as well as individual work assignmentsPlan and supervise the daily manufacturing activities on a shiftEnsure assigned staff are qualified and appropriately trained for assigned workAssure production output supports the production scheduleEngage the employees by sharing metrics and how they relate to our Team performanceAssure production output meets all applicable quality requirementsPartner with human resources to perform recruiting, performance management, training and development, recognition, time management, and corrective action responsibilitiesMonitor manufacturing area supplies and equipment; initiate purchasing requests as neededChampion the principles of Continuous Improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for improvementImplement and promote the concepts of 5S by maintaining clean & organized work areas with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, & utilizationContinually seek to improve work processes & individual performanceAdhere to and enforce all company policies & operational proceduresAdhere to and enforce all quality and safety standards within the departmentEnsure the quality corrective action plans are adhered to and non-conforming products are managedFacilitate daily huddle boardsEstablish 1 on 1 discussions with all direct reportsSupport all activities of the Champions Model and great place to work philosophyPerform other related duties as assigned
What it takes
Associates degree in a related field or equivalent experience.4+ years of lead/supervision/management experience. 5+ years of manufacturing experience.Demonstrated ability to foster results oriented, continuous improvement cultureAdvanced problem-solving skillsAbility to use a computer (Basic Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook) and calculatorAble to be licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane hoist, etc.)Good written and oral communication skills; ability to read and write EnglishEffective coaching and supervisory skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environmentAbility to be self-directed and effectively work with minimal supervisionAbility to comprehend and follow verbal and electronic work instructionsStrong attention to detail

Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
