NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a detail-oriented Computer Programmer to design, develop, and maintain software applications that support organizational systems and business processes. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience working with multiple programming languages, and the ability to contribute effectively throughout the software development life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications based on defined requirementsWrite, modify, and debug code using one or more supported programming languagesCollaborate with analysts, developers, and other IT staff to implement technical solutionsParticipate in system and application testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuningMaintain documentation for application code, configurations, and technical proceduresSupport deployment, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of software applicationsFollow established coding standards, security guidelines, and development best practices
Required Qualifications
Four-year degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fieldMinimum of three (3) years of experience in a related Information Technology (IT) roleExperience programming in one or more of the following languages or technologies: C++; Java / J2EE; Visual Basic; .NET; HTML / XML; PowerBuilder; DelphiUnderstanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts and methodologiesActive DoD Secret security clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing or supporting business or enterprise applicationsFamiliarity with databases and basic SQL conceptsExperience working in a team-based development environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills
