What you will get to do:
Oversee the Accounting Clerks, Assistant Controller, and HR AdministratorMaintain chart of accounts and recommend improvements as neededReview and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close packagesEnsure accuracy and timeliness of financial statementsEstablish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assetsEnsure GAAP compliance and readiness for external audits and tax advisorsOversee cost accounting processes, including verification of inventory valuation, physical inventory count accuracy, and standard costsAnalyze variance accounts and alert management of any significant issuesSupport capital expenditure analyses and decision making as neededCoordinate with CPA firm for tax filings and compliance requirementsProvide input on ERP (NetSuite) optimization and data accuracyFacilitate department meetings to ensure all members of the accounting and finance department are coordinated in their effortsGive regular accounting and finance department updates to the Finance Director & CFOReview sales and VAT tax filings and manage nexus and VAT tax registrations for multistate and internationalReview costing and provide feedback based on observations, work with NetSuite team for roll and revalue of items, and work with the purchasing team on new item rollupsMaintain accounting processes to ensure a proper set of internal controls is in place and followedAssist and advise C-Suite and Directors with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning as necessary
What will make you successful:
Experience financial management in a manufacturing setting required10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including Controller-levelStrong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP, consolidations, audit, tax)ERP proficiency; NetSuite expertise preferredProven success in leadership roles
