Hours
- Required to work a 40-hour work week.
- Partial days, evenings, and weekends may be required.
- Required to adapt to a flexible schedule as arranged by Manager to meet scheduling needs.
Essential Job Duties
The courier provides the essential service of connecting library materials to our patrons at convenient locations. Working under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, and with an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the person in this position perform the following duties:
- Pick up, deliver, safely load and unload library materials, mail, booksale items and other materials throughout the library system and other designated locations.
- Receive and distribute library deliveries.
- Conduct weekly vehicle inspection, maintain logbook and perform cleaning and routine maintenance of vehicles.
- When not driving, perform duties of a Custodian.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with good driving record, reliable transportation, and telephone and be able to be reached for emergency situations.
- Working knowledge of standard maintenance routines, tools, and ability to apply methods and techniques.
- Strong public service orientation and commitment to excellent and genuine customer service.
- Dependability, punctuality, good attendance and work habits.
- Exercise initiative, be enthusiastic, creative, flexible, energetic, value diversity, and possess a sense of humor.
Ability to:
- Stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time; reach and bend and engage in strenuous physical activities on a routine basis and lift and move heavy objects (70 lbs).

- Work harmoniously and cooperatively with supervisor, co-workers and patrons.
- Accept and manage change.
- Work independently and collaboratively.
