Mission
Neko Health exists to shift healthcare from treating illness to preventing it, using advanced, non‑invasive technology and clinical expertise to deliver early, actionable health insights.
AI Intern – Data & AI Team (Summer Internship)
Location: Stockholm (on-site)
Duration: Summer Internship (approx. 8–12 weeks)
Team: Data & AI
About Neko Health
At Neko Health, we are redefining preventive healthcare through advanced diagnostics, multimodal data, and cutting-edge AI. Our mission is to improve long-term health outcomes by enabling earlier detection and deeper understanding of disease risk. By combining engineering, medical science, and machine learning, we build systems that translate complex health data into actionable insights.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated AI Intern to join our Data & AI Team for the summer. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with real-world health data and contribute directly to impactful early-detection solutions.
As an AI Intern, you will collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, and clinicians to explore how multimodal health data can be modelled, analysed, and transformed into meaningful preventive insights. You will work within Neko’s scientific and technical frameworks to ensure rigor, reproducibility, and measurable impact.
Each intern is paired with a dedicated mentor and given ownership of a technically challenging project aligned with Neko’s mission.
What You’ll Work On
Projects may include:
Developing machine learning models for multimodal health data (imaging, physiological signals, structured clinical data, etc.)
Applying computer vision techniques to medical imaging or sensor-based data
Experimenting with foundation models and representation learning approaches
Prototyping data-centric workflows for pre-processing, labelling, and evaluation
Designing and validating algorithms for early-detection insights
Evaluating model performance, robustness, and generalization in healthcare settings
Your work may contribute directly to research initiatives, product features, or internal AI infrastructure.

We’re seeking curious, driven, and technically strong students who are excited to tackle complex health-data problems.
Required Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
Strong foundation in machine learning and/or computer vision
Solid programming skills (e.g., Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks)
Experience working with data pipelines, experimentation, or model evaluation
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
Nice to Have:
Experience with multimodal modelling
Exposure to foundation models or large-scale representation learning
Familiarity with healthcare or biomedical data
Research experience or publications in ML/AI
Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
What You’ll Gain
Hands-on experience applying AI to real preventive healthcare challenges
Mentorship from experienced AI researchers and engineers
Exposure to high-quality scientific and engineering standards
Ownership of a meaningful project with tangible impact
Insight into how AI systems are deployed in real-world healthcare environments
Who Thrives Here
Top-performing students who love technical depth
Builders who enjoy turning research ideas into practical systems
