The Role
We are looking for a senior level data engineer to help us with our data pipeline and backend API. JustWin checks tens of thousands of government websites every day to find new government contracts, and processes them through our advanced data pipeline, to score and summarize them for our customers. Our pipeline is working 24/7 to make sure we don’t miss anything that our customers would have wanted to see. We need a great data engineer who will help us scale our pipeline to serve our growing customer base, and add advanced new features on our backend APIs.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and expand our existing data pipeline for ingesting government contract data

• Monitor and instrument for data issues, and help us eval our AI processing

• Experiment with LLMs/AI agents to simplify RFP analysis and proposal creation

• Support new user features by building new functionality into our backend API

• Own critical problems end-to-end, balancing speed and quality

• Open to quarterly travel (if not on-site in DC): able to travel to Washington, D.C. roughly once per quarter for team meetings and collaboration.

Nice to Haves

• Strong experience with Python/Django

• Experience with workflow/DAG platforms like Prefect or Apache Airflow

• Experience with databases, ideally Postgres

• Familiarity with cloud providers like AWS or GCP

• Familiarity with LLMs and how to prompt them

• Familiarity with web scraping frameworks

• Background in startups, small teams, or fast-paced environments.

• Experience working on AI/ML-enabled products.
