This position can be remote within the US, with preference given to candidates located in New York.
We are looking for a Data Operations Manager who thrives in data complexity — an expert in large-scale data manipulation and automation — who can design repeatable systems to clean, standardize, and transform data into structured formats.
This role is hands-on and practical. You will build the internal tooling and frameworks that allow us to process our customer data faster, more accurately, and at scale. You will also serve as our internal Center of Excellence (CoE) for data capability.
Responsibilities:
Build Scalable Data Transformation Tooling
Design repeatable frameworks for cleaning and standardizing large datasets (typically originating in Excel)Build Excel-based automation (advanced formulas, Power Query, VBA, scripts, etc.)Create structured mapping templates to harmonize different ERP export formatsStandardize units, material codes, packaging hierarchies, and naming conventionsDesign error-checking and validation systems to flag inconsistenciesReduce manual cleanup work through automation and reusable logicOwn High-Volume Data Processing
Work with datasets containing thousands to millions of rowsOptimize transformation workflows for performance and reliabilityCreate version-controlled transformation logic and reusable templatesDevelop scalable processes to onboard new clients efficientlyImprove Data Quality & Governance
Define internal standards for “clean” and “ingestion-ready” dataBuild data validation checkpoints before ingestion into the AI toolCreate documentation and transformation playbooksEnsure auditability (critical for compliance reporting)Serve as Data Capability Lead (Internal CoE)
Advise product, operations, and onboarding teams on data intake strategyIdentify opportunities to automate repetitive data tasks across the companyTrain team members on data best practicesHelp shape long-term data process improvementsBridge the gap between raw client data and product-ready structured inputs
