About Us:

Join a forward-thinking financial organization in Central Ohio as a Desktop/Endpoint Engineer helping bridge the gap between traditional desktop engineering and modern DevOps practices. In this hands-on role, you’ll design, implement, and maintain a secure, scalable, and automated desktop environment—driving innovation as the company transitions to a modern ecosystem.

You’ll collaborate with IT Operations, Information Security, Project Management, and business units to deliver reliable desktop services, tackle complex challenges, and modernize infrastructure. If you’re a creative problem-solver who thrives on automation, innovation, and ownership—this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Document & Educate: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of desktop engineering processes, configurations, and best practices; develop knowledge base articles and technical guides.

  • Build & Deploy: Package and distribute software via Ivanti EPM and Microsoft Intune, ensuring timely patching, configuration, and compliance.

  • Harden & Secure: Develop, implement, and maintain security and configuration policies (GPO, DCM, Intune) while collaborating with InfoSec to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.

  • Troubleshoot & Resolve: Provide Tier 3 technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex desktop, application, and configuration issues.

  • Collaborate & Integrate: Partner across teams—Information Security, IT Ops, PMO, and business units—to ensure smooth integration and cross-team alignment.

  • Standardize & Scale: Build and maintain images for desktop deployments, ensuring standardization and reliability across the enterprise.

  • Evolve & Innovate: Stay current on emerging desktop, DevOps, and automation technologies, applying modern techniques to improve performance and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring:

Core Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in desktop engineering, with emphasis on automation, scripting, and troubleshooting (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).

  • 3+ years working with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or similar virtualization platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with Ivanti EPM and Microsoft Intune, including package creation and configuration management.

  • Strong understanding of ITIL or related IT service management frameworks (incident, problem, and change management).

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS.

  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, NIST).

Advantageous Skills:

  • Experience building and maintaining an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment.

  • Prior exposure to Fiserv products.

  • Background in financial services or banking environments.

Cultural & Team Fit:

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Enjoy working independently while collaborating with a tight-knit IT team.

  • Bring curiosity, creativity, and ownership to every project.

  • Have an engineering mindset that values structure, documentation, and continuous improvement.

  • Take pride in building reliable, secure, and modern systems that scale.

Team Environment:

  • 12 total IT team members.

  • Direct collaboration with the Help Desk Manager and a peer engineer.

  • Core team focused on end-user support, endpoint management, and modernization initiatives.

Interview Process:

  1. Virtual Interview with the Help Desk Manager.

  2. Panel Interview (virtual or on-site) with additional IT team members.

What We Offer:

  • Modernization Opportunities: Influence the evolution of a traditional environment into a modern, automated ecosystem.

  • Collaborative Culture: Join a team that values autonomy, innovation, and teamwork.

  • Professional Growth: Expand your skills across desktop engineering, DevOps, and cloud technologies.
