DevOps Engineer Skill Set

Core Skills:

• Containerization and Orchestration:
  • Proficient in Kubernetes (setup, configuration, maintenance, scaling, monitoring).
  • Strong experience with Docker (image creation, management, optimization).
  • Experience in creating and managing Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments.CI/CD Tools:
  • Expertise in GitLab CI/CD:
  • Designing and maintaining GitLab pipelines.
  • Automating build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Strong understanding of pipeline optimization and integration.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation and maintaining infrastructure state.
• Scripting:
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and tooling.

Qualifications

Nice to Have:

• Programming and Build Tools:
  • Knowledge of Java development workflows and debugging.
  • Familiarity with Gradle for build and dependency management.
  • Experience with Spring Boot for application deployment and integration.
• Event-Driven Architectures:
  • Understanding and experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing.
• Monitoring and Observability:
  • Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar for system monitoring and logging.

Soft Skills:

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, architects, and QA engineers).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in documenting workflows, processes, and architecture.
