Contract/freelance basis.
Duration: 3 months initially, with potential extensions.

Day rate: £400 - £450 per day

We’re looking for a freelance Product Manager to help shape the digital experiences of some of the biggest sporting organisations in the world. This is a high-impact, contract role where you’ll take ownership of the strategy and execution of sports websites and mobile apps that engage millions of fans globally.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional squads to drive forward product goals, ensuring that each initiative meets both fan needs and client objectives. This is a freelance/contract position, suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments and can quickly get up to speed and add value.

Your Role

As a freelance Digital Product Manager, you will:

  • Lead the definition and delivery of fan-facing digital products across web and mobile.

  • Align with internal teams and external clients to define product vision, strategy, and priorities.

  • Own the product roadmap and backlog, crafting clear user stories, briefs, and prioritisation plans.

  • Ensure smooth and efficient collaboration with engineering, design, and research teams.

  • Leverage analytics, user feedback, and business goals to inform continuous product optimisation.

  • Balance client priorities with fan value and technical feasibility, making smart trade-offs.

  • Contribute to agile ceremonies, ensuring product goals stay on track while embracing iteration.

What We’re Looking For

You are a freelancer or contractor with proven experience delivering B2B2C digital products, ideally in a client-facing, agency-style environment. You’ll have experience working in autonomous or embedded roles and are comfortable leading initiatives independently while being highly collaborative.

Essential Skills & Traits

  • Strong track record managing consumer-facing digital products (web & mobile).

  • Confident in stakeholder engagement and translating requirements into actionable plans.

  • Experienced in agile environments – backlog grooming, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.

  • Excellent communication skills – clear, structured, and tailored to different audiences (engineers, designers, clients).

  • Ability to balance MVP thinking with high-quality outcomes.

  • Used to working with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Miro, etc.

  • Strong analytical mindset – able to translate data and user insights into roadmap improvements.

Soft Skills & Approach

  • You’re pragmatic and delivery-focused – comfortable flexing process based on project needs.

  • Skilled at building trust quickly with new teams and clients.

  • Collaboration-first mindset – you work with and through others, not in silos.

  • Understands when to challenge, when to align, and when to move forward.
