The Role
We’re hiring a Director of Product & Customer Marketing to scale revenue growth through compelling content. This key role will lead all content for our e-commerce business including product marketing, site merchandising, online editorial features, social media, and email CRM. This role reports to the VP Marketing who has overall responsibility for e-commerce.
You will own the development and delivery of content across multiple channels that engages, inspires and informs customers with the ultimate goal of driving sales. You will be responsible for retaining customers and getting them to order from us over and over. You will oversee content for multiple product lines, working closely with cross-functional teams and agency partners bringing a combination of strong written communication skills, creative thinking, project management, and performance focus. You are equal parts content strategist, merchandiser and project manager.
Responsibilities:
Product Marketing (30%)
Become an expert on our products, their features, benefits and use cases
Learn about our customers and how they use our products
Develop and deliver product marketing content including product descriptions, sell sheets and other collateral as needed for both new products and existing products
Monitor site metrics such as bounce rates and conversion rates and proactively look for opportunities to improve the on-site journey through content, UX changes, etc.
Collaborate with product managers on product introductions, product naming and positioning
Oversee site merchandising including the main navigation menu and site search
Create new product collections/PLPs as needed, and optimize existing PLPs
Manage the site homepage, promo banner and other key site properties. Coordinate content changes with all teams and execute changes in the CMS (Contentstack).
Work collaboratively with the Design Manager and UX Manager to achieve a coherent and seamless on-site experience
Brief and provide feedback on new photography, infographics or other design assets
Be the primary owner and guardian of site content and manage workflows directly in the CMS
Editorial Content & Social Media (20%)
Write or source, and publish 4-6 new blog posts or online features per month based content calendar, SEO/GEO priorities and product priorities
Receive and prioritize SEO and GEO content suggestions from external consultant
Brief and provide feedback on images or other design assets needed to support editorial features
Manage the Social Media Manager providing ongoing coaching, mentoring and feedback
Help ideate social media posts and concepts
Email Marketing/CRM (30%)
Own the delivery of a successful email marketing program including campaign, promotional and automated emails (flows) to customers
Develop a customer lifecycle strategy that retains, rewards and nurtures customers so they remain loyal and reorder again and again
Manage the delivery of email strategy and content from the email agency
Oversee automated email campaigns and segmentation to deliver superior open and click rates
Calendar & Project Management (20%)
Own a rolling content calendar that features our products, customer stories, helpful content and more, with the goal of boosting SEO/GEO positions and driving customer engagement and sales
Consult widely across marketing and the business to ensure content themes are relevant, timely and address competing requirements and interests
Mediate and make decisions as needed to prioritize content development and publishing
Along with the VP, manage the promotional calendar including promotional analysis, determining when to run sales, and turning coupon codes on and off
Develop and implement systems, processes and tools for effective management and coordination of activities
Drive delivery across all teams of content
Other
Assist with copywriting across the business such as ad campaigns or other marketing projects
Design, execute, and analyze content experiments or A/B tests, iterating quickly to refine and scale tactics that drive revenue.
Participate in creative brainstorming and ideation sessions
Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports as needed
Act as a deputy to the VP of Marketing as needed
This role involves a lot of individual contributions and also manages a team of 2
Requirements:
5+ of experience in a content-heavy direct-to-consumer e-commerce environment
Direct experience with writing and publishing online content, including content for products and for SEO
Experience managing a content calendar and delivering content themes across multiple channels at the same time
Experience with site merchandising including management of PDPs, PLPs, site search and navigation
Proven experience with email and SMS marketing, driving revenue growth and customer loyalty
Knowledge of Klaviyo considered an asset
Deep experience with headless CMS (does not have to be Contentstack but must have strong knowledge of CMS work in general)
Knowledge of GA4 and other analytics tools and systems
A results-driven, action-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
Curiosity about stickers, printing, and how small businesses and personal users can leverage these products
Resides in GTA and will come into Toronto office 2-3 days each week
Authorized to live and work in Canada.

Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid role, with a mix of in-office and remote work. This position requires working from the office 2-3 days per week.
