Aviation recruitment specialists Optime Group are recruiting for an experienced Duty Manager to join a large, fast-paced PRM operation at London Luton Airport.
This is a senior operational leadership role, responsible for managing large teams, maintaining service level agreements, and driving high standards of performance, safety, and customer experience across a busy airport environment.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Service Delivery
- Lead the PRM operation to ensure service delivery meets and exceeds agreed SLAs
- Take ownership of operational standards and performance across large, multi-skilled teams
- Identify issues quickly and implement corrective actions to maintain service continuity
- Support senior management with operational decision-making and service improvement initiatives
People Management & Performance
- Lead, motivate, and manage large operational teams (30–40+ staff)
- Confidently address performance issues and manage challenging situations within established teams
- Set clear expectations, provide direction, and maintain high levels of accountability
- Support coaching, development, and performance management to improve team capability and engagement
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a zero-tolerance approach to health & safety non-compliance
- Ensure adherence to HSE, DfT, airport, and company procedures at all times
- Promote a strong safety culture across the operation
- Support audits, inspections, and incident management
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact for airlines and airport stakeholders
- Respond professionally to service issues, escalations, and operational challenges
- Maintain strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders
Reporting & Administration
- Complete operational reporting and documentation accurately and on time
- Use operational systems to track performance, staffing, and service delivery
Additional Information
As this is an airport-based role, successful candidates must pass security checks, including:
- 5-year checkable employment history
- Criminal record check with no disqualifying convictions
Requirements
- Proven experience managing large teams in an operational environment
- Strong leadership presence with the confidence to manage performance and difficult situations
- Experience working within aviation, transport, logistics, or similarly regulated environments (desirable)
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and organised under pressure
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Full UK driving licence (preferred) – hi-lift or airside driving experience desirable
- Flexibility to support night operations when required
- Right to work in the UK
