EXPANSIA is excited to design, implement, and mature a secure, scalable Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) that enables Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) integration across the developing US Hypersonic enterprise and industrial base. Located at the new aerospace research and test complex, this facility is poised to become the nation’s premier hub for hypersonic system research, modeling & simulation, and test capabilities. 

As a Data Scientist IV, you will serve as an emerging authority in data science, analyzing unstructured and semi-structured data using advanced computational techniques such as latent semantic indexing (LSI), entity identification, and complex event processing (CEP). You will design and deploy sophisticated applications for large-scale data analysis on distributed, clustered, and cloud-based high-performance infrastructures. Your role includes processing high-volume data collections, leveraging machine learning, predictive modeling, and data clustering to extract insights, and applying innovative approaches to support high-value use cases. With considerable latitude in determining objectives and solutions, you will develop technical strategies, solve complex analytical challenges, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance data-driven decision-making. 

The proposed salary range for this position is$126,760-$158,447. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Analyze unstructured and semi-structured data using advanced computational methods 
  • Develop and implement algorithms for large-scale data analysis on distributed and cloud-based infrastructures 
  • Process and index high-volume data collections and high-velocity data streams 
  • Utilize advanced tools to interpret, connect, predict, and derive insights from complex data 
  • Apply machine learning, algorithm analysis, and data clustering techniques 
  • Support software development using open-source and enterprise technology stacks (Java, Linux, Ruby, Python, .NET, C#, C++) 
  • Work with data transport and transformation APIs such as JSON, XML, XSLT, JDBC, SOAP, and REST 
  • Leverage cloud-based data analysis tools including Hadoop, Mahout, Accumulo, Hive, Impala, and Pig 
  • Utilize visual analytics tools such as Microsoft Pivot, Palantir, and Visual Analytics 
  • Apply open-source textual processing technologies like Lucene, Sphinx, Nutch, and Solr 
  • Implement entity extraction and conceptual search technologies such as LSI and LDA 
  • Develop predictive models and support analytics-driven decision-making 
  • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions 
  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded 
  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area 
  • Participate in growth efforts as requested 
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction 
  • Complete personal PDP and attend staff meetings and Storytime (with the camera on) 
  • Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program 
  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 
  • KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance 
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 8 - 10 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 - 8 years of experience 

  • Recognized as an emerging authority with extensive technical expertise in data science 
  • Develops innovative solutions to complex analytical challenges with minimal supervision 
  • Experience in machine learning, predictive modeling, and large-scale data processing 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++ 
  • PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with high-performance computing environments and distributed computing frameworks 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for optimizing data workflows and algorithms 
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms and advanced data visualization tools 
  • Knowledge of data security best practices and regulatory compliance 
  • Google Cloud Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate
