EXPANSIA is excited to design, implement, and mature a secure, scalable Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) that enables Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) integration across the developing US Hypersonic enterprise and industrial base. Located at the new aerospace research and test complex, this facility is poised to become the nation’s premier hub for hypersonic system research, modeling & simulation, and test capabilities. 

As a Systems Engineer III, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, evaluating, and modifying complex systems and systems-oriented products throughout their entire lifecycle. You will work under general direction, applying technical expertise and problem-solving skills to provide innovative solutions to a wide range of technical challenges. Your responsibilities will include generating system requirements, ensuring compliance with government and client standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to refine implementation strategies. You will participate in system conceptual design, interface development, performance assessments, and testing to ensure system functionality and reliability. Additionally, you will support business development activities, contributing to the shaping of technical requirements and providing expertise in standards, practices, and procedures related to product development. 

The proposed salary range for this position is $102,310-$127,888. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, evaluate, and modify system-oriented products throughout their life cycle 
  • Generate system requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning, and acquisition logistics 
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods 
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop lower-level implementation requirements 
  • Support the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to product development 
  • Design and integrate system interfaces to ensure seamless interoperability of system elements 
  • Assess system performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures 
  • Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts for implementation 
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation 
  • Develop and execute system-level verification procedures and customer acceptance test plans 
  • Review test plans and procedures to ensure alignment with contractual objectives and participate in system testing activities 
  • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions 
  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded 
  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area 
  • Participate in growth efforts as requested 
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction 
  • Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on) 
  • Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients 
  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 
  • KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance 
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 years of experience, or a Master's with 3 - 5 years of experience 

  • Experience applying technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve complex system engineering challenges 
  • Ability to generate system requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams on implementation strategies 
  • Strong analytical skills to assess technical performance measures and ensure system compliance 
  • Experience in system conceptual design, performance assessments, and verification methods 
  • PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of system modeling, simulation tools, and requirements management processes 
  • Experience in hardware and software integration for system development projects 
  • Understanding of government regulations and industry standards for system engineering 
  • Exposure to system verification and validation methodologies 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to support technical and business development initiatives 
  • CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified, AWS/Azure Associate 
  • Experience with system design supporting aerospace systems
