What You’ll Do
As an Early College Teacher at Veritas Prep High School you’ll push into the Early College (EC) courses and support students academically and socially as they navigate the class, offering a weekly Early College Lab to help students master the skills and content of the college course. You’ll also work with a team to create a community where students of all identities feel safe, seen, and included, centering students and fostering student-led discourse, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
You’ll also:
- Support students to be successful in Early College (EC) classes.
- Attend EC classes on the high school and/or college campuses and engage from the student perspective by taking notes, previewing coursework, understanding syllabus and assignments.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' academic and behavioral progress and development.
- Provide accurate attendance records and sit in on all assigned college courses.
- Provide instructional and behavior management support of students during classes (as determined by each college professor).
- Serve as a point of contact for Springfield Technical Community College and Worcester State University faculty, including communicating any faculty questions and concerns to the Dean of Early College and Student Success Managers.
- Prepare data for and attend biweekly data meetings to track student progress and support all students in the EC classes.
- Plan and implement Early College Lab classes to support student success.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and/or additional instructional materials that support student’s learning of the college course content.
- Encourage, monitor, and provide feedback on the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Additional functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
- Teach a Seminar course on college and career readiness skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
- Promptly returning phone calls and answer emails from families and coworkers.
- Serving as club advisor (as assigned/approved).
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- Maintains consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One to three years of teaching experience preferred.
- Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by:
- a passing score on the Communications and Literacy Skills (Reading and Writing) MTEL, and
- a passing score on a relevant subject area MTEL
- Authorized to work in the United States, with valid work authorization in place by the first day of employment.

Veritas Prep offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefit packages that include the following:
- Salary Range for this position is $58,000-$100,000 exclusive of fringe benefits.
- If hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
- In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
- Keep in mind, the above range is the full base salary range for this position. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
