In addition, DoneDeal Cars is Ireland's largest marketplace for cars, providing the widest selection of cars from both private sellers and trusted dealers. With over 3 million monthly users, our platforms sit at the heart of Irish life. 

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead two teams that will own and shape important aspects of the both DoneDeal and Adverts marketplaces. This is a rare opportunity to make an impact at a huge scale, with your work directly influencing how millions of individuals in Ireland connect and transact online.

Your teams will own some of the most important parts of our marketplaces: user trust and safety, fraud prevention, user accounts, ad creation, private seller monetisation and provide support and tooling for our world-class CX team. In addition they will own all our car dealer facing systems, ensuring we provide them with best in class tools to manage their business, enabling them to create quality, data rich advertisements and provide a trusted car buying experience for DoneDeal users.

What will I be doing

• Partnering with Product, Sales and Design/UX to define a vision and strategy for your team

• Leading the execution of your team’s roadmap and pragmatically solving bumps along the way

• Where necessary, getting into the details of problems to ensure we are building solutions in the right way

• Help coordinate delivery priorities, unblock teams, align solutions to our technology strategy and guide new feature development.

• Exploring generative AI opportunities to help build better products faster

• Leading by example to set a culture of empowerment, accountability and ownership throughout the Engineering team

• Monitoring team cadence and efficiency, surfacing operational insights and driving continuous improvements

• Developing and mentoring the Engineers on your team, with a focus on career and personal growth
