Executive Chef
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Executive Chef to join our team on a one-year contract basis, with the possibility of an extension. This position involves providing culinary services for an executive's primary residence. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Private household experience is highly recommended.
Responsibilities
- Menu Planning and Food Preparation: Plan menus, purchase ingredients, prepare, and serve meals for the primary residence, ensuring all dietary requirements of family members are met.
- Special Events: Prepare meals for private dinners and special events held at the primary residence.
- On-Call Catering: Provide on-call catering services as needed, whether at the residence or at different venues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef in a similar position, preferably in a hotel setting and private household.
- Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, regional cuisines, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Minimum of two (2) years of industry experience within a recognized food service establishment.
- Ability to handle emergency situations with accuracy and speed, providing effective solutions.
- Familiarity with industry, best practices, basic computational ability, and basic computer skills.
- Culinary certification is a plus.
Additional Information
Benefits
- Reimbursement for health insurance premiums at a rate equal to the lesser of 75% or $8,500.
- Coverage for New York State Unemployment Insurance, New York Disability Insurance, and Workers Compensation Insurance.
- Applicable Social Security Tax (FICA) will be deducted from the employee's pay.
- Federal Income Tax, New York State, and New York City withholding tax, as appropriate, will be deducted from the employee’s salary.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Verification of employment eligibility in the United States is required.
