External Contractor, IT, Frontend Engineer

You will be using your knowledge and skills to help us develop and maintain the existing code base for our existing cutting-edge platform and build new features and products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work effectively within a cross-functional multi-site team.
• Translate product requirements and UX designs into high-quality, accessible, and consistent frontend implementations.
• Deliver clean, maintainable, scalable code aligned to agreed engineering standards (separation of concerns, clear boundaries, reusable patterns).
• Build features using our centralized Design System / component library and standard templates—avoid reinventing patterns already provided by the platform.
• Contribute back to shared libraries, templates, and core UI foundations to reduce duplication and improve adoption across squads.
• Participate in planning, technical design, and architecture discussions, making clear tradeoffs and documenting decisions when needed.
• Own code quality end-to-end: automated testing, meaningful reviews, and pragmatic quality gates (linting, static checks, CI discipline).
• Collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, multi-site environment with Product, UI/UX, QA, and other engineering squads.
• Provide continuous improvement recommendations based on real delivery pain points, product feedback, and engineering signals.
• Support consistent delivery practices (branching/release discipline, peer review, QA handoff, and production readiness).
• Mentor and coach engineers through constructive reviews, pairing, knowledge sharing, and raising standards—lead without formal authority.
• Use AI tools productively and responsibly to accelerate delivery (prompting, iteration, validation), while maintaining correctness, security, and quality.

Qualifications

You Have:

• Strong commercial experience in Vue 3, building production-grade applications.
• Strong TypeScript skills and ability to design clean APIs/interfaces for maintainability at scale.
• Proven experience with frontend architecture patterns (layered architecture, modular design, clear boundaries, scalable project structure).
• Strong understanding of JavaScript/ECMAScript fundamentals and browser/runtime behavior (performance, rendering, async).
• Proficiency with HTML5 and modern CSS (Flexbox/Grid). Familiarity with scalable CSS approaches (BEM or equivalent).
• Experience with modern tooling and engineering workflow (e.g., Vite or equivalent build tooling, pnpm/npm, ESLint/Prettier, Git).
• Solid testing mindset and experience with automated tests (unit/integration/e2e) and CI enforcement.
• Proficient with Git and GitLab workflows (MR-based development, code reviews, CI pipelines; familiarity with release branching is a plus).
• Experience working in Scrum Agile environments and collaborating across disciplines.
• Strong communication skills: ability to explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and impact to different audiences.
• Working knowledge of AI-assisted engineering practices:
  • knows how to prompt effectively, iterate, and verify outputs
  • understands how instructions/constraints affect results (system vs user input)
  • applies AI safely (privacy, security, correctness)

Preferred:

• Deep experience with Vue 3 Composition API, component design patterns, and state management best practices.
• Experience with Design Systems / component libraries (building or consuming), tokens/theming, accessibility standards.
• Experience with AG Grid / AG Charts and building standardized, reusable data-heavy UI patterns.
• Familiarity with Vuetify (or similar UI frameworks) and/or Storybook-driven component development.
• Experience in regulated / enterprise environments with strong quality, security, and release discipline.
