Our team delivers customer self-service functionality via the Farmers/Foremost/Bristol West Websites and Mobile Applications.
Role Description:
Product Owners collaborate with product managers, developers, architects, scrum master and business owners/SMEs to create and/or decipher features into user stories. More complex capabilities are defined by PM's, then PO's ensure development and accurate delivery of the solution. Follows through with development, some UAT, demo's, to ensure business needs are timely met. Works in a SAFe Agile environment.
Requirements
• 1–3 years of experience in a corporate environment as a Junior Product Owner, Business Analyst, Junior Project Manager.
• Industry Knowledge: Exposure to Insurance, FinTech, or E-commerce is a significant plus, as the role focuses on customer-facing self-service tools.
Agile & Framework Proficiency
• SAFe Exposure: The candidate should understand Agile and how a development Sprint fits into a larger (PI) Program Increment plan.
• Story Writing: Experience taking a Feature (high-level) and breaking it down into User Stories (detailed) with clear Acceptance Criteria.
• Backlog Refinement: Ability to manage and prioritize a list of tasks so the development team always knows what to work on next.
Technical & Tooling Skillset
• Rally: Having used Rally (or Jira/Azure DevOps) to move stories through a board is essential.
• UX Collaboration (Figma): You don't need to be a designer, but you should be able to open and navigate Figma, leave comments, and ensure the developers are building what the designers envisioned.
• UAT (User Acceptance Testing): Experience testing with a pre-release app or website to ensure it doesn't break and meets the business requirements.
Soft Skills
• Translation: The ability to listen to a Business SME and translate that into requirements for developers.
• Stakeholder Management: Confidence to lead a Demo where you show stakeholders what the team built during the sprint.
