The Role:

To oversee the financial and management accounting functions for the group’s entities in France and the Netherlands, ensuring that financial resources are efficiently managed and safeguarded.

As the Finance Manager at Commify, you'll have the exciting opportunity to:

  • Generate precise and timely management reports and statutory financial statements, including detailed monthly management accounts (Income Statement and Balance Sheet), cash forecasts, and debt reports, accompanied by insightful analyses and commentary for all these components.
  • Cultivate relationships with external advisors in tax, statutory reporting, and payroll to ensure all submissions and payments are accurate and punctual.
  • Supervise daily financial operations while updating and maintaining the control environment, which entails:
    • Establishing effective processes, reviews, and authorizations.
    • Taking full ownership of the NetSuite ERP system alongside all ledgers and reconciliations.
    • Managing the accounts receivable function.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and guarantee compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and roll out financial policies and procedures.
  • Act as a business partner to the wider French and Dutch operations by offering financial analysis and insights that support effective decision-making.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes for various business units.
  • Lead, manage, inspire, and cultivate the finance team (comprising three individuals, including two working remotely from Lyon), who are dedicated, high-performing, and accessible.
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure the Finance team effectively addresses the needs of operational businesses.
  • Oversee and assess the performance of team members.
  • Support the acquisition and integration of future French businesses into the group.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and legislation.
  • Take on additional finance-related tasks and responsibilities as needed.

The Person:

The perfect candidate will be exceptional, boasting a proven track record in a comparable role. They should possess the following qualifications:

Essential

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in finance or accounting roles, including previous management experience and industry exposure (as opposed to, or in addition to, an accounting practice).
  • Familiarity with IFRS and French GAAP financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and their reviews.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and via written and verbal communication, with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to interpret complex financial data and provide valuable insights.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, manage stress, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive mindset and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience in line management.
  • Fluency in French and the ability to communicate confidently in English.
