PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
This role will primarily support the maintenance and updating of financial models, project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and investor reporting for Abstract’s portfolio of projects. This position is suited to a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with data and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain and update project proformas and financial models in Microsoft Excel
· Track and report budget and schedule changes, reconciling with project proformas monthly
· Update and maintain project cashflow forecasts
· Monitor job forecasts and identify budget variances in collaboration with development and construction teams
· Assist with preparation of monthly investor reporting
· Support monthly operating reforecast process through variance analysis
· Support continuous improvement of financial models and reporting templates
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES
• Completed post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field, and,
• 2-3 years of recent financial analyst experience.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills for interpreting financial data
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, dynamic modeling)
• Clear written and verbal communication for presenting findings and collaborating
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Familiarity with Accounting software (e.g. Jonas Premier) is an asset
• Experience and proficiency in preparing and managing complex financial models is an asset
• Real estate development or construction industry exposure is an asset
• Proactive approach to problem-solving with a continuous improvement mindset
Benefits
A competitive salary range of $55,000-$65,000, and this role is eligible for our company bonus plan.
