Role Overview

As a Full Stack Shopify Developer, you will be responsible for handling end-to-end site updates, custom page designs, theme customizations, and seamless deployments. You'll translate designs into pixel-perfect, responsive Shopify implementations while heavily utilizing AI tools to generate, refine, and optimize code—dramatically speeding up the development process. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong collaboration with design teams, and a passion for e-commerce performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute site updates, including theme modifications, app integrations, bug fixes, and performance optimizations.

• Design and build custom pages, sections, and layouts (e.g., homepages, product pages, landing pages, collections) using Shopify's Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.

• Handle deployments, version control (Git), and ensure smooth rollouts with minimal downtime.

• Translate Figma designs into fully functional, responsive Shopify themes and components with pixel-perfect accuracy.

• Leverage AI tools extensively to accelerate coding:

  • Use Lovable.dev (or similar AI-powered app builders) for rapid prototyping and full-stack code generation.

  • Prompt tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok to write, debug, and optimize Liquid code, JavaScript snippets, CSS, and custom apps.

  • Integrate AI for tasks like generating reusable sections, automating repetitive code, suggesting improvements, and speeding up iterations.

• Collaborate on headless Shopify setups if needed (e.g., with React/Next.js).

• Optimize stores for speed, SEO, accessibility, and conversion rate (e.g., mobile responsiveness, lazy loading).

• Troubleshoot issues across the stack, including APIs, third-party integrations, and checkout customizations.

• Stay current with Shopify updates, Online Store 2.0 features, and emerging AI tools in e-commerce development.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 6+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer with a focus on Shopify (themes, apps, Liquid templating).

• Proficiency in Shopify ecosystem: Liquid, HTML/CSS, JavaScript (vanilla/ES6+), JSON, and Shopify APIs (Admin, Storefront).

• Strong experience with Figma: Ability to leverage plugins to support page design cloning from competitors, interpret designs, export assets, and implement pixel-perfect translations (including responsive breakpoints and interactions).

• Proven track record of heavily using AI tools to enhance productivity:

  • Hands-on experience with Lovable.dev for AI-driven code generation and app building.

  • Expertise in prompting ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or similar LLMs to write/debug code, generate ideas, and automate tasks.

• Experience with version control (Git), deployment workflows, and tools like Theme Kit or Shopify CLI.

• Knowledge of front-end best practices (responsive design, performance optimization) and basic back-end concepts (e.g., webhooks, custom apps).

• Familiarity with e-commerce metrics and tools (Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Shopify Plus and headless (e.g., Hydrogen, Next.js).

• Background in custom app development (Shopify Apps with Node.js/Polaris).

• Portfolio showcasing Figma-to-Shopify conversions and AI-accelerated projects.

• Experience building custom checkouts and apps for advanced merchant processing
