Role Overview
This is a leadership role, responsible for building scalable legal processes, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, supporting fundraising and investor relations, and enabling business growth through strong governance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & Compliance Operations
· Manage day-to-day legal advisory and compliance requirements across the organization
· Establish and standardize legal frameworks, workflows, and internal controls
· Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations
· Ensure compliance with labour laws (Shops & Establishments, PF, ESIC, POSH, Minimum Wages, gig workforce regulations, etc.)
Contract Management
· Draft, review, and negotiate across vendors, staffing, partnerships, and employment
· Create and maintain standard contract templates and approval workflows
· Conduct periodic contract audits to mitigate commercial and legal risks
· Support business teams on contract interpretation, renewals, and amendments
Fundraising & Investor Compliance
· Support fundraising transactions including term sheets, SHAs, SSAs, and side letters
· Ensure compliance with FEMA, FDI, RBI, and related regulatory frameworks
· Coordinate legal due diligence with external counsel and investor legal teams
· Track and manage post-investment obligations and shareholder compliances
Policy Framework & Risk Management
· Draft and implement internal policies including POSH, Whistleblower, Code of Conduct, Ethics, and Data Privacy
· Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments
· Develop and maintain risk registers and compliance dashboards
Litigation & Dispute Management
· Handle pre-litigation notices, consumer complaints, regulatory notices, and disputes
· Liaise with external counsel on litigation strategy, settlements, and enforcement
· Maintain dispute trackers and provide regular status updates to leadership
Intellectual Property Management
· Oversee filing, protection, and renewal of trademarks, copyrights, patents, and domains
Advise teams on IP usage, licensing, and infringement risks
Requirements
· LLB/Company Secretary qualification preferred
· 10+ years of experience in corporate legal, compliance, and secretarial roles
· Strong exposure to contracts, statutory compliance, fundraising, and governance
· Experience working with high-growth startups, or technology-led companies preferred
