Sensat is a geospatial AI business that powers advanced and highly functional digital twins for the world's most critical infrastructure projects. We partner with the world's largest construction, engineering and critical infrastructure companies, including National Grid, Network Rail, Heathrow and Severn Trent Water. We enable our customers to fight the costly and high-risk "Status Quo" of siloed data, people and processes. Our AI-powered digital twins help teams digitally visualise, plan and manage projects, providing Project Confidence Through Clarity.
We are a high trust, high impact team, who offer purpose driven work. We operate with autonomy and flexibility in an agile, flat structure. We look for highly talented, adaptable and curious individuals who love solving meaningful problems and who share our resilient team spirit when facing challenges!
We are on track to more than double ARR in 2025, with a strong pipeline that positions us for another year of 100%+ ARR growth this year. Backed by over £25 million in funding from blue-chip investors like National Grid Partners and with imminent US market entry representing a significant value inflection point, this is an exciting time to join the Sensat team!
As we gear up to double our ARR and expand into the US market, the complexity and scale of our commercial engagements are growing rapidly. We are looking for a highly commercial, pragmatic Head of Legal to act as a strategic partner to the business.
Reporting directly to the VP Finance, you will be the legal engine of Sensat. This role exists to ensure that as we scale, our legal function accelerates revenue rather than slowing it down. You will be negotiating complex, high-value enterprise SaaS agreements with some of the largest infrastructure players in the world, while also advising our Product and Data Labs teams on the cutting edge of Geospatial AI and data rights.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for a lawyer who wants to move beyond just reviewing contracts. You will have the autonomy to build scalable legal operations, guide our international expansion, and operate at the intersection of law, commercial strategy, and AI technology.
Reporting to: VP of Finance
Location: London / Hybrid
Lead the negotiation and drafting of complex, high-value Enterprise SaaS agreements, MSAs, and partnership contracts with major infrastructure clients
Develop and refine legal playbooks, standardise templates, and implement efficient “self-serve” processes to empower the Sales team and increase our deal velocity
Partner with the leadership team to support our imminent entry into the US market, including localising commercial agreements and managing cross-border risk
Act as the primary legal advisor to the Product, Engineering and Data Labs teams, guiding them on intellectual property, data licensing, and the regulatory landscape surrounding AI and digital twins
Support the VP Finance on corporate matters, including cap table management, employee equity schemes, potential future fundraising activities, and general corporate governance
Oversee our data protection and privacy strategies, ensuring our commercial data flows remain compliant while enabling the business to leverage data effectively
A qualified England & Wales solicitor with strong post-qualification experience (likely 5-7+ years PQE, though we are flexible for the right commercial mindset)
Proven experience working in-house at a high-growth B2B, technology or SAAS start-up. You understand the mechanics of software licensing, subscription models, and IP
You have a track record of sitting across the table from procurement teams at large enterprise/blue-chip organisations and successfully closing deals
You are a “deal-maker,” not a deal-blocker. You know how to balance legal risk against commercial realities and can explain complex legal concepts simply to the wider business
You enjoy building systems and want to build the playbooks and processes that make reviewing contracts unnecessary for standard deals
You thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment where the answer isn’t always obvious, and you are comfortable taking ownership of broad legal mandates
(Bonus) Experience supporting a UK tech company’s expansion into the US market or navigating AI/geospatial data regulations
(Bonus) Experience navigating venture capital fundraising rounds, managing due diligence processes, and supporting the execution of investment documentation alongside external counsel as and when required
📈When Sensat succeeds, so will you, with significant equity share options
