Position Summary
The Host is responsible for greeting guests, confirming reservations, and seating all patrons of the restaurant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Welcome guests to the restaurant.Manage reservations.Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas.Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name.Greet customers upon their departure.Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options.Maintain a clean reception area.Cater to guests who require extra attention (children, elderly, etc.).Assist wait staff as needed.Perform other duties as appropriate.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 16 years old by their first day of employment.Understanding of restaurant etiquette and front-of-house operations.Ability to manage reservations and guest inquiries efficiently.Demonstrated customer-service skills with a professional, friendly demeanor.Excellent verbal communication skills; able to give and follow instructions clearly.Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor dining and bar areas.Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.Physically able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform tasks for extended periods (up to 5 hours at a time).Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 30 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.Ability to visually inspect and maintain work areas for cleanliness and organization.
