The IBDP Physics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Physics instruction aligned with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This role focuses on fostering inquiry-based learning, deep conceptual understanding, and strong analytical thinking among students at both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). The teacher will uphold IB philosophy, learner profile attributes, and international-mindedness while supporting students in achieving academic excellence and holistic development.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging IBDP Physics lessons in line with IB curriculum standards
  • Design, administer, and assess Internal Assessments (IA) and prepare students for external IB examinations
  • Implement inquiry-driven, student-centered teaching methodologies
  • Track student progress using data-informed assessment practices and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Integrate laboratory experiments, technology, and digital tools to enhance conceptual understanding
  • Mentor students in academic pathways, including Extended Essays and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) connections
  • Participate actively in curriculum planning, moderation, and collaborative IB planning meetings
  • Maintain accurate academic records, assessments, and student reports
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership to support student success
  • Contribute to professional development initiatives, school activities, and the wider IB learning community

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related discipline
  • Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent)
  • Prior experience teaching IBDP Physics (SL & HL), with 2–3 years preferred
  • IB Category 1 or Category 2 training in Physics is an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of IB assessment frameworks, command terms, and evaluation criteria
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and student engagement skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs
  • Proficiency in educational technology and blended or virtual learning environments
  • Collaborative, reflective teaching approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong alignment with IB values, learner wellbeing, and international-mindedness
