What to to Expect
As a industrial design intern at Terranova, you will own the design of robot aesthetics, physical cowls, and company branding. You will work alongside the engineering team to ensure that your designs are practical, manufacturable, all while looking clean and aesthetic.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the mechanical design team to develop cowls and other aesthetic components of the various robots
Lead prototype builds for your cowl designs and ensure manufacturability
Develop renders and animations of the robots
Develop consistent branding across all the robots
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience making physical mockups for large vehicles/robots
Strong CAD proficiency (OnShape, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or NX)
Hands-on fabrication and prototyping skills - you enjoy working in the shop - have an extensive portfolio - Bonus for large sheet metal bending and fiberglass workups
Graphic design and rendering
Animations and visual effects
Comfortable with the pace and intensity of early-stage startup life
Working towards a bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Design or related field
U.S. permanent residency required
Compensation and Timeline
$20-28/hr + relocation + company perks
Summer Internship from May-September depending on your school schedule
