Position Summary:
The Interior Architect will lead interior architecture for multiple high-end projects, integrating spatial planning, materiality, and detailing from concept through construction administration. They will be part of a collaborative environment, working with principals, architects, and the interior design team to create cohesive, site-responsive environments tailored to each particular client and context. This position has the ability to be remote.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead interior architecture through all project phases including spatial planning, material selection, millwork detailing, finish coordination, and construction observation
- Prepare interior architecture project documentation for all phases including elevations, reflected ceiling plans, schedules, millwork shop drawings, and finish specifications
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of design elements including proportion, color, light, texture, and scale in the context of interior spatial design
- Develop interior architecture presentations and collaborate on design content and related digital materials
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects with varying complexity and scope
- Coordinate interior architecture with structural, MEP, lighting, and furniture/furnishings teams
- Communicate with consultants regarding timelines and deliverables
- Prepare budgets, staffing outlines, and project phasing for assigned projects
- Collaborate with architects and interior designers to create integrated, holistic design solutions
- Contribute to the selection of materials, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) in coordination with interior design team
- Mentor junior designers and delegate tasks to team members as appropriate
- Work in Revit to expert level for interior architecture documentation
- Utilize 3D rendering tools (Twinmotion, Lumion, or similar) for photorealistic material visualization and spatial representation
- Demonstrate knowledge of construction methods and timelines
- Apply interior design principles and practices across a variety of tasks within multiple project types
Education/Skills/Experience:
- Degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or Architecture from an accredited university
- 8-10+ years of experience in interior architecture for high-end single-family residential or hospitality projects from concept through completion
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong understanding of millwork, finishes, lighting, and spatial detailing
- Excellent listener and communicator, able to comprehend and disseminate information efficiently
- Experienced and technically knowledgeable enough to provide mentorship of junior staff
- Proven track record and thorough understanding of:
- Leading interior architecture through all phases from concept design through construction observation (spatial planning, material selection, millwork detailing, finish coordination)
- Revit Proficiency
- 3D rendering expertise in tools that allow for photorealistic renders, material visualization, and spatial representation using platforms like Twinmotion, Lumion, or similar
- Coordinating interior architecture with structural, MEP, lighting, and furniture/furnishings teams
- Managing simultaneous projects and delegating to team members
- Collaborating with architects and interior designers to create integrated, holistic design solutions
Benefits
At the time of posting this job, the hiring range for this position is between $90000 and $130,000 annually. Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relatedness of the candidate’s education and experience and considering internal equity and external market factors.
