
Job Purpose
The Logistics Intern supports the logistics and supply chain team with day-to-day operations, including inventory management, data analysis, shipping coordination, and documentation. This role provides hands-on experience in logistics processes, warehouse operations, procurement support, and systems evaluation. The intern will gain practical exposure to workflow optimization and supply chain best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Assist in coordinating inbound and outbound shipments.
- Update and maintain logistics databases, trackers, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock counts and reconciliation.
- Help prepare shipping documents (e.g., packing lists, delivery notes, waybills).
Data and Reporting
- Compile logistics performance reports (e.g., delivery times, transport costs).
- Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Support the team with data entry into ERP or inventory management systems.
Warehouse and In Inventory
- Participate in warehouse operations such as labeling, sorting, and stock organization.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock audits.
- Document discrepancies and follow up with relevant teams.
Supplier & Transport Coordination
- Communicate with transporters, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Support procurement activities such as requesting quotes and comparing suppliers.
- Track shipments and provide updates to stakeholders.
Administrative Tasks
- File and maintain logistics documents.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and assist with logistics planning tasks.
Requirements
Recently completed a diploma/degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
