🌍 Our International Expansion team
As the driving force that will make Joko a globally successful company, the International Expansion team embodies boundless ambition. The team is responsible for designing the strategy that will take Joko to multiple countries and for coordinating all teams so we deliver fast and efficiently.
The International Expansion team reports to Xavier, our CEO. The core team is composed of the Head of International Expansion, an International Expansion Manager, and an International Expansion Intern. Together, they operate like a startup within the company and build the foundations that will make Joko shine in every market we enter.
Our mission: turn Joko into a globally used product, starting with the US and expanding to more countries soon.
🎯 What you will do
As an International Expansion Manager, you will contribute to the design and execution of our global expansion roadmap. You will work on all aspects of the roadmap and collaborate with every team in the company. You will report to the Head of International Expansion.
Your scope is international by design. Today, most of your work will focus on scaling our presence in the United States. As we grow, you will help prepare and launch additional countries and ensure our playbooks scale across geos.
You’ll be part of a small, high impact team with the autonomy to make bold decisions and the mandate to drive global growth.
Strategy and research
Run deep market assessments across multiple countries to identify opportunities, threats, and what it takes to win
Build the strategic roadmap for new market launches with the CEO, the CRO, and the Head of International Expansion
Monitor local competitors and keep us ahead of market expectations
Product and user experience
Own the user experience for international users and ensure the product works flawlessly from the first day of launch
Partner with the Product team to run user interviews and understand local needs and behaviors
Work with the Product and Tech teams to ensure each new country reaches the same level of product features and experience as France while adapting to local specifics
Commercial and partnerships
Partner with local commercial teams to secure the right partners in each country to make our value proposition competitive
Ensure Joko has strong visibility in local affiliate ecosystems
Analyze partner performance and negotiate rates or collaborations that strengthen our position
Marketing and growth
Work with Growth teams to shape local acquisition strategies
Help adapt messaging, funnel steps, and incentives to each country
Contribute to building a repeatable playbook that scales across geos
Operations and enablement
Design scalable processes that help internal teams operate in multi country mode
Work with Finance, Legal, Data, and Ops to make sure everything is ready for a country launch
Track performance of each geography and surface actionable insights
👀 Who we're looking for
Education: You graduated from a top tier engineering, business, or analytical program.
Experience: You have at least 2 years of relevant experience in consulting, startups, scale-ups, or similarly fast-paced environments in project management roles.
Languages: You are fluent in English. Other languages are a plus but not required.
Analytical thinker: You enjoy structured problem solving, digging into data, and bringing clarity to complex situations.
Tech driven: You naturally look for tech-enabled ways to scale processes. You are curious about tools, automation, and AI.
Global mindset: You are curious about international markets, cultural differences, and what it takes to win in a new country.
Cross functional player: You love working with many teams at once and can navigate different stakeholders with ease.
Operational doer with an entrepreneurial and autonomous spirit: You enjoy getting your hands dirty, finding practical solutions, and making things work better, faster, smarter. You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy building things from scratch. You can take full ownership of projects from A to Z with minimal guidance.
Clear communicator: You explain ideas in a simple, structured, and convincing way, both in writing and out loud.

🤝 Our hiring process
Intro call: Quick screening with the Hiring Manager or a recruiter.
Step 1 – Team interview (45 min): Conversation with two Joko team members (could include the Hiring Manager, people from the team you’d join, or colleagues from other teams).
Step 2 – Role-specific assessments
For non-tech roles: Take-home case study followed by a 45 min debrief. We assess both your output and how you think in real time. The exercise will be relevant to the role (e.g. analysis, strategy, or process design).
For tech roles: Live technical interviews:
Coding interview + System design interview
For research internships, an additional round may involve analyzing and presenting a research paper
Step 3 – Founders interview (45 min): Conversation with two of our founders.
References: Up to five calls with former colleagues or managers.
