The Investment Associate is responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues on the consulting and manager research teams to collect and synthesize data, support analytical work and gather information required for client deliverables.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Obtain monthly and quarterly client statements from investment managers and custodiansEnter market values and cash flows from the investment manager and custodian statements in the investment software platform for each account in which the client is invested, while problem solving any discrepancies in performance calculationsand reconciling performance returns across sourcesUnderstand and analyze all asset classes in clients’ portfolios such as equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds and private equityMonitor market trends and monthly performance results for all asset classesParticipate in team and firm projects upon request, which may include creating charts/graphs for client deliverables and data analysisAssist Research team in generating reports and collecting data from eVestment, Bloomberg, Morningstar, and FactSetOrganize weekly agendas for investment committee meetings, take and distribute meeting minutesProvide day-to-day client support: respond to client, manager, and custodian inquiries, explain performance results to the client team when requested, and resolve issues in a timely mannerSupport asset class leaders with investment manager research by collecting/analyzing data, attending investment manager meetings, and helping create client-ready deliverables, education materials, and manager reports/analysis
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related fieldCommitment to client service excellenceStrong attention to detail and highly organizedAbility to work independently to meet deadlines; use critical thinking skills to solve problems autonomously Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and react to change positivelyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCuriosity and interest in the institutional investment market; strong desire to learnSolid knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new software applications, including those which are proprietary
