We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced IRS / EIN Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) from the IRS for newly formed companies. You will represent our clients directly in communication with the IRS via phone, ensuring accurate and timely processing of their EIN requests. You will also be responsible for helping collect information from clients for their ITIN applications and remitting it to a 3rd party vendor. You will work closely with the tax team to help with their requests as it relates to our clients and the IRS.
Key Responsibilities:
Contact the IRS via phone daily during US business hours to obtain EINs on behalf of our clients.Represent clients professionally and ensure compliance with IRS regulations.Manage and track EIN applications, maintaining meticulous records of all interactions and documentation.Address any issues or follow-ups related to EIN acquisition efficiently and effectively.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met in a timely manner.Own the internal process of submitting ITIN applications to a 3rd party vendorReport weekly on performance (ITINs submitted, EINs extracted, Cases In progress, AVG extraction time, etc)
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with the IRS on various cases, particularly involving EIN acquisition.Active PTIN number, SSN number, or certification as a CAA (Certified Acceptance Agent) or EA (Enrolled Agent).Strong understanding of IRS procedures and compliance requirements.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to represent clients professionally.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.Ability to work in the US timezone and manage daily IRS interactions effectively.
