The IT and Audiovisual Support Technician assists the IT team in supporting artists and VFX production teams. Under supervision, they contribute to workstation setup, basic troubleshooting, request tracking, and equipment installation. This internship offers the opportunity to discover a demanding technical environment and gain practical experience in a world-class VFX studio.
Key Responsibilities
Technical support
Receive and document support requests in the ticketing system.
Perform initial diagnostics of simple hardware and software issues (network connection, peripherals, account access).
Escalate complex incidents to the Service Desk team.
Support communication with users (ticket updates, follow-up on solutions).
Respond to various requests related to the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of audiovisual and electronic equipment, as well as networking and distribution systems.
Assist in the ongoing inspection, diagnosis, repair, and restoration of equipment, providing both preventative maintenance and responding to problems encountered.
Workstations
Assist in preparing and configuring workstations for new artists (basic Windows/macOS/Linux installation).
Follow internal procedures for software deployment.
Check network connectivity and peripherals (screens, tablets, audio).
Workstation Installations
Assist the team with internal relocations: simple connections, basic network cabling, installation of monitors and peripherals.
Maintain an organized and safe workspace during relocations.
Post-Production Support
Assist in preparing screening and review rooms (connection, screens, basic calibration).
Monitor the proper functioning of workstations during internal sessions.
On-Call Work
Observe emergency management procedures (no direct intervention without supervision).
Document incidents encountered during after-hours support for learning purposes.
Degree in computer science, networking, technical support, electronics, audiovisual technology, or telecommunications.
Knowledge of audio and video systems.
Basic knowledge of Windows/macOS/Linux systems.
Knowledge of plan design, sketching, diagramming, and procedure creation.
Interest in creative environments and VFX pipelines.
Ability to learn quickly, follow procedures, and work as part of a team.
The person holding this position will work closely with our teams in Toronto and Los Angeles. They will also be involved in discussions with our clients based around the world, in order to showcase the technical and creative capabilities of Rodeo FX.
