Java Backend Developer

We are seeking a Backend Engineer (Java) to join a dynamic engineering team based in Mumbai. In this role, you will build and scale robust backend systems that support a high-traffic, large-scale platform. You’ll work closely with product, architecture, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, high-performance services in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs within a microservices-based architecture
• Develop, deploy, and manage services in containerized environments
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to ensure efficient data handling
• Ensure system performance, reliability, and availability at scale
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and version control practices
• Apply strong data structures and algorithms knowledge to solve medium-complexity problems
• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability for production systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical and architectural decisions

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong expertise in Java with solid OOP and design pattern fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and containerization
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Git-based workflows, and debugging techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills backed by DSA knowledge
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable)
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and contribute to scalable system design
• Bonus: Experience in fintech, startups, or building high-scale applications
